Friday, end of week 1...

Skipped yesterday, for no reason at all, I guess I was a bit lazy? :-) Feeling fine, had a successful day at the office, BP in AM average at 150/100 and PM at 140/90..

And I'm outta here. Have a great weekend!!!!

Wednesday, oftewel, Klein Saterdag

Wednesday went without a hitch. Good traffic driving to Sandton, only took me 90 minutes to do the 70-odd k's. Feeling more energetic, less sleepy.

Morning BP was 148/84, definitely not too bad. Evening BP hit 150/88.

Went to Prophetic Course at church again tonight. Same prophesy over my life from yet another person. I guess I'll have to get ready for whatever is going to happen... :-)

Oh yes, I forgot. Rupert came to see me again yesterday after a long absence... They're living closer now, close enough for visits...

And off to bed I go...

Tuesday Tuesday!

Went to see the doctor this AM, she was quite happy with the progress made in 1 week. Puffiness around the ankles almost gone completely. She says she can definitely see a bit of weight loss. The scale, however, still says "ERR" when I get on.... She is happy that my heart sounds better, and my BP is coming down bit by bit. BUT.... she has thrown another spanner into the works. Type 2 diabetes. My reading is over 12, should be below 6. So there goes the ice creams, the crunchies, the cokes, the fanta's, the sweet things in life... Having said that, it only goes to helping me loose more weight! I'm planning to get my weight down to 95. And once I hit 95, that's me off to the local airport (Wonderboom Airport) for a tandem jump.

So let's take it one day at a time and get all of this unnecessary weight off... Not too difficult, if I really put my mind to it.

Pray for me....

PS. My BP this AM was 195/96 and tonight showed a 145/80. Getting there!!!!!

Very normal boring Monday. BP AM and PM more or less 150/100. Breakfast: Oats. 10 o'clock: Boiled egg and half a sarmie. Lunch: Tomato & Polony sarmies. 3 o'clock: Half a sarmie. Dinner: Piece of boerie, egg, slice of wholeweat. (Wifey cooked.)

Tomorrow it's off to the doctor to hear what she has on her mind...

Lot at work was quite nice today..

Just after 10, and I'm heading for bed...

G'night!

Sunday Morning coming down....

Woke up this AM to a BP of 140/67. Cherise made us a nice breakfast, had a real sit-down together, the 4 of us. Spent morning just hanging around, watching old reruns of My Family. Brad came home quite early (before 12), went for a buffet lunch. Healthy food. Except for the pudding. Did not have a huge helping of the latter, but nevertheless. Spent afternoon in pool playing ball, fooling around, did some mild exercise (creating whirlpool, quite a strain!!!). Had a haircut. Dinner was leftover chop from last night's braai, and a piece of garlic bread, as well as one hot-dog. Still have to figure out the healthy eating thing. BP at 7 was 153/88. Watched the movie on MNet, wrote up my day, and went to bed.....

Goodnight all!!!!

Go Bulls!

Woke up quite early (6:30 on a Saturday is early for me!). Internet was down, so no emails, nothing...

Took Cathy's car for mini-valet, she's getting a new one this week. Felt the steel band around my chest again. Apparently I'm not supposed to feel something like that. It's an extremely constricting feeling. Will discuss with Dr on Tuesday. Did some shopping. Came home, had a snooze, started preparing for braai. Cherise and her new beaux arrived just after 4. Watched the Bulls, nearly had a heart attack (Just jokes!!!) and enjoyed the win. Had a braai and played some pool afterwards.

Today I ate 1 cheese & tomato sandwich, a small lamb chop, approx. 100g steak, and a bit of pap and sous.

Blood pressure this PM was 136/73. (Meter needed batteries)

A new beginning

After a visit to my doctor on Tuesday (16/2/10) I've made a decision to change my lifestyle. I have to get rid of 40-50 kg's. I have to get fit. I have to get my blood sugar levels under control. I have to get my cholestrol under control. I have to get my heart working efficiently again. I have to get my blood circulation circulating again. I have to get my blood pressure to normal. Either this, or my time here will be severely limited. Fortunately it's almost 5 years since I stopped smoking (9/8/05).

I had one heck of a skrik when my doctor told me she is worried, because she never admits to being worried. According to her, my heart sounds a bit tired....

My blood pressure for the past few days were:
  • 16/2/10: At doctor's rooms: 150/110. Not good.
  • 16/2/10: PM: 179/92
  • 17/2/10: AM: 152/96
  • 17/2/10: PM: 147/96
  • 18/2/10: AM: 137/76
  • 18/2/10: PM: 148/88
  • 19/2/10: AM: 152/94
  • 19/2/10: PM: 148/90

  • I'll be posting my BP every day. At this stage the scale shows me as over 151 kg's, so I'll have to wait until I'm measurable again before I can add that to my blog as well.

    Please pray for me...

    UPDATE: 16:00
Doctor phoned to confirm Tuesday's appointment. She received the result of blood sugar level tests, and sounds concerned... (Again...)
